Swirling Art In-Person
[Teens and adults]
Suminagashi, or “floating ink,” is the art of creating beautiful, marbled paper utilizing ink that floats on water. Multiple artistic traditions around the world combine water and ink to create swirled, decorative papers. Suminagashi originated in Japan in the 12th century. Celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month by dipping into this styple of art and making some unique papers that you can use for other crafts or as gift wrap.
